The Catahoula leopard dog became the official symbol of Louisiana in 1979.

Wool and care
The Catahoula leopard dog is dressed in a one-layer coat. The coat is short, smooth and rather dense. This dog requires minimal grooming. The Louisiana Catahoula Leopard has no particular health problems, although white dogs may have unilateral or bilateral deafness and / or blindness in 80% of cases. There may be some problems with dysplasia, pupil abnormalities and narrowed vision.

Dogs of this challenging breed are very energetic and therefore need an increased amount of exercise and training.
