Pappy dog or Puppy training
Pupil’s are cute but it’s not always easy to get them to stop eating the floor. If you have a pappy dog or a puppy there are many ways to make their life easier. For instance, puppy training classes will teach them the basics and allow you to build on them at home.
We cover essential commands, loose-leash walking and provide problem solving tips for potty training, chewing, digging and more. In-person group sessions also allow for puppies to socialize in a safe environment.
Adult Dog Training
A pet is a creature of great value to its owner. That’s why it’s important to take the time to train them. At Petco, we offer expert dog training courses to ensure they’re ready to learn at any time.
Our training methods are proven. We teach you how to be a good dog owner by understanding and teaching the five essential life skills we’ve identified as key to the successful ownership of a pappy dog or adult dog.
What vaccinations are required to participate in training classes?
We want our puppies and dogs to be healthy, so we make sure that they have up-to-date shots and other health requirements before we allow them to start training with us.
Rabies vaccine for dogs aged 16 weeks or older (if a medical reason prohibits your pet from receiving this vaccination, please consult your trainer ahead of visit). Parvovirus (panleukopenia), herpesvirus-1 (viral rhinotracheitis), and calicivirus for cats.
New York City requires that people who apply for a pet for the first time must provide a veterinarian’s certificate. In addition, the city requires that people who already own pets provide proof that they are up to date on all vaccinations. The city also has a no-pet rule for children under 6.
Vaccinations can be given to pets at the veterinarian, but you can also get them in a convenient walk-in clinic. These clinics may provide a more convenient place for your pet to receive a vaccination or other type of veterinary care.
