The Goldador is a designer breed that was created by crossing two dog breeds: the Golden Retriever and the Labrador Retriever. The most popular Goldador are those that appear in the first generation after such a cross.
Characteristic
Muscular and sturdy, Goldador has a well-proportioned build and medium size. It is an athletic, hardy, and agile dog that is extremely friendly and generally displays a wonderful temperament.
Character
Goldador is a gentle, affectionate and loving dog. He is extremely family oriented and is very yearning if you leave him alone for a long time. If this practice becomes permanent, then the character of Goldador can become destructive, for example, he can begin to spoil the surrounding objects. This dog breed is perfect for homes with children, dogs and other pets. At the same time, this dog makes an excellent watchdog, as he is very distrustful of strangers and will always alert you to suspicious sounds or intruders. Goldador can also be dominant and very energetic.
Wool and care
Goldador is dressed in two layers of wool. The outer layer is short, hard and water resistant, the undercoat is soft and dense. In order to remove loose or dead hair, it is recommended to regularly brush the dog with a stable bristle brush. You can only bathe this dog if absolutely necessary, using a mild shampoo to avoid damaging the protective properties of the coat. Dog ears require regular checking and cleaning. In addition to the development of ear infections, characteristic diseases for this breed are hip dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, heart disease and von Willebrand disease.
Training
Early socialization and obedience training is recommended. Goldador is an extremely sensitive and intelligent dog and should not be treated with harsh or arbitrary methods. Training must be conducted with firmness, fairness, patience and consistency
Activity
Since Goldador is an extremely active dog, he requires a significant amount of exercise and mental stimulation. Best of all, he will feel in a rural house or farm, where he will have enough space for free and active walks.
